Discover Kārkliņi.
History of the house
Kārkliņi was built in 1892.The Kārkliņi family were prosperous farmers who owned a stable; cows, pigs and other animals were also an essential part of the farm at the time.
In 1979 my grandmother, Zigrīda Stungure, a celebrated actress at the Dailes Theatre, bought the house from the Kārkliņi family. She and her husband Jānis used it as their summer retreat.
I took ownership of Kārkliņi in 2013. Over the following decade I restored the house to the appearance it had around 1920.
